During the night of 30 August, Russia carried out a mass combined missile and UAV strike on Ukraine. Ukrainian defences reportedly downed 32 of 37 cruise and air-launched missiles, 6 of 8 ballistic missiles, and 510 of 537 Shahed-type drones and decoys.

To date, Russia’s attack on Kyiv on 28 August 2025 killed 23 people, incl 4 children.

The power unit was PBS TJ40-G2 engine, producing 400 Newtons of thrust, manufactured by PBS Velká Bíteš in the Czech Republic.

Geran-3 drones also use Chinese-origin SW400 pro engines.

While the world seeks a path to peace, Russia responds with missiles.

The overnight attack on Kyiv shows a deliberate choice to escalate and mock the peace efforts.
