Forever grateful to the psychiatrist who explicitly and frequently underlined in my notes that I donβt have a personality disorder.
But still.. being able to articulate self control and discernment is important to avoid a new professional overriding this.

Last time I saw my CPN I was blonde and no tattoos. When we meet for a joint psychologist assessment, Iβll have pink hair and fresh tattoos.
You wouldnβt think this would be an issue but now Im having to consider how to explain neither were impulsive choices and neither were signs of MH decline π

It may be hitting against the no dual therapies stance but there may not be a blanket policy on this.
In my service, we work alongside substance misuse orgs not instead of them. There is not the provision to safely support the client- but there are specialists.

Thanks :) Yeah, my interest is in the overuse of lucid dreaming. Particularly as thereβs been a push to create apps that support the development and sustainment of lucid dreaming.
For now, there is only anecdotal data. I should think about writing it up π

Would highly recommend that book. Very few texts manage to capture what it feels like to be in that situation. It is unsanitised and that is the important part for professionals to see.

Iβve had 8 yrs of trauma therapy with a clinical psychologist plus other interventions. Been on an antidepressant about 15 years. This, with the new addition of ADHD med, is why i am finally able to expand my emotional expression without dissociation.
This is being holistic..not everything but meds

Slightly different but our brains will dull or numb us, if it feels threatened. You can white knuckle psychotherapy but thereβs no guarantee youβre experiencing the full emotional spectrum or thats its not just a rollercoaster of emotional defences - to which meds can stabilise.

Therapy definitely has side effects just like medication. In many ways, therapy can be more destabilising, by necessity.
Why, in a world where there is potential to access both, is there the incessant drive for the One True Cure πππ

When its been particularly tough, I will watch videos of babies laughing or cats being cats. They get through all the barriers that might make socialising or talking about it difficult.
Then theres creative exploits, hugs, therapy. Whatever you need π (2/2)

As someone working with recent history horrors, I would say that it is necessary to reconnect yourself to your community or your self. Vicarious trauma is a risk but it is mitigated by having support structures that keep you connected. (1/2)
