He is just ahead of the cut off marker and the tracker is showing an eta of 19:49. This is going to be tense period of dot-watching…

I have been fretting about the tea dodger #179, since he stopped moving at about 7.30am. But it looks like he is up and out of the checkpoint.
Knowing John Kelly’s predilection for napping in puddles, maybe he just decided to have a quick kip in a snowdrift and is back in the race now?🤞#SpineRace

They’re off! It was -9c as these runners left Edale and they have 60hrs to break through 108 miles of ice and snow before they reach their finish line in Hawes.
