So many of my acquaintances were 100% taken in by his "emotional" 60 Minutes interview where he acted sad about astronauts going to Congress trying to stop SpaceX from replacing NASA. I can't tell you how many times this interview came up when I said he was a conman.

DS9 was my favorite Trek, possibly because it was the least Trek of them all. A station, a war where it wasn't always clear who the good guys were, religion, money, prostitution, and the best Trek AU episode of all time, Far Beyond the Stars, directed by Brooks himself.

I just really miss how much a show's budget could create the necessary environment for greatness. You'd file 1 bottle episode and 3-4 low budget but good character pieces in order to save up for a killer season climax where every bit of dialogue mattered and every shot was lovingly made.
