What inspired me to make this is recently playing OG Game Boy games like Adventure Island 2 and Hammerin' Harry, and gaining an appreciation for how graphics were made back then. I wanted to challenge myself to create something with a style that would fit alongside those.

I've been messing around with a DMG palette lately, and since I'm extremely bored and have no idea what I should be doing, I made a mockup of what a Bluey game would look on the original Game Boy.

Oh man, I remember when they had those arcade ROMs you could play for free within your browser. They took a while to load and the emulation was spotty, but it was so cool to play real arcade games for free officially. I distinctly remember playing Final Fight and the New Zealand Story.
