Sharing this - the symptoms of stroke. Someone important to me didn't recognise loss of speech as a sign, to their cost, upsettingly so.
Know the signs: F. A. S. T.
Dropped side of the FACE
Inability to raise both ARMS
SPEECH slurred or impossible
Act FAST, call an ambulance

Robert Duvall in a black suit, white shirt, and black tie. He is smiling against a gray background. It's 2014.
Robert Duvall was a kind and gentle man. He had that crinkle in his smile that made you think he had some precious secret, all his own.
Rest well, Robert.
Glad everything went wellπ Hope you heal quickly and well and will be out with the birds again soonπ€

There is large spatial variability, but a long-term decreasing trend. The thickness of ice ranges from 0 meters to more than 5 meters.

It was good to see the Hume's Warbler at Lowestoft on 14/2/26. It gave brief views in the morning, and then wasnβt seen for a few hours: I relocated it early afternoon, in the north-east corner of Sparrow's Nest Gardens, where it showed very well.

15.02.2026 20:18 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I am happy to admit it really has been genuinely life saving for me at times. And I met my amazing T'other Half through it, so although folk criticise twitching/birding sometimes it can be life changing and essential for people. May sound a bit sad but here we are.
15.02.2026 19:11 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I think this is part of my generation's confusion about AI.
We were raised on a culture that warned about these dangers repeatedly -- from WarGames to the Terminator films to the Matrix, and countless other dystopian futures in between -- and now those cautionary tales are being celebrated.
Someone has sure already made this observation but the fact they can convert all those empty warehouses into prison camps means they could have converted them into housing, community centers, job training centers or, hell, libraries or schools all along. Itβs always a matter of will not resources.
