Political extremists and populists always need scapegoats and "others" to blame for anything that goes wrong. Even if a new government tackles migration issues (for example here in the Netherlands), the extremists will simply shift the blame onto a new group because they are bad at self-reflection.

I heard somewhere that with the exception of Jacksonville Trump hardly won any cities with a population above a few hundred K, including in red states. It's not a red/blue state split, it's and urban/rural divide.

Libertarians are people who think they did it all by themselves but forget they went to public school, drive on roads, get protected by police and fire dept, don't get poisoned because of the EPA, get subsidized healthcare, courts of law, property rules, air traffic control, public research etc.

Didn't we go through this in 2008 already
