In your case, and I am loathe to say this because I think they are over-recommended in general, have you considered a handheld PC/SteamDeck? For what you're looking for, basically any of the options on the market would work well, and cost a good bit less than a gaming laptop.

That should be fine. Typically emulation is more CPU intensive as I understand it, and it looks like they all have i9 CPUs (it's hard to tell with the scan quality), so you should be good on that front. 7th Gen should only be limited by the progress made on emulation of the platforms themselves.

If I was buying one, I personally would probably choose the Lenovo on pg 23. It's a little less powerful, but also thinner and lighter, which would make it more useful as a laptop, but it's still fully capable as a gaming laptop.

It's tricky, because all of the laptops here have cards with 8gb of VRAM, and that's starting to not really be enough for AAA games; for future proofing, I'd really like to see at least 12gb. Of the laptops here, the Lenovo on pg 29 is probably the best balance of cost to performance at $1100.

We should spend *some* time looking into people who want to run for federal office and have literal SS tattoos who say "no I'm not a Nazi."
