Japanese company Luminaris announced that it's launching a private tutoring school called Wish High, where all the teachers are VTubers. It's pitching the new service to high schoolers in remote regions of Japan, as well as to the growing number who refuse traditional schooling.

After a series of mobile battery fires that caused injuries and delays, Japan's Ministry of Transportation will move to ban their use on domestic flights starting in April. They'll also limit the number of mobile batteries that passengers can carry to two per person.

My favorite type is the shaku-dokei, which deals the variable hour issue by just attaching a pointer to the weight and changes the numbers around instead.

...intervention. For example, this "lantern" model has two verge-and-foliot escapement systems to handle day and night hours having different lengths. (Earlier lantern wadokei had only one escapement, and so needed to be adjust twice a day.)

Japanese time in the Edo period was divided in the 12 hours, with day and night divided into 6 hours. And, since day and night change throughout the year, the length of hours also varied.
