Some authors having badly disclosed conflict of interest is quite a cherry on top.

There's gazillion papers on possible data driven methods in medicine, but most don't go anywhere, possibly because while they show promise, doing a real trial is a lot of work and requires expertiese data scientists and sw engineers often lack.
I don't know why AI should get a free pass on this.

I agree we should be held to higher standards, especially when it comes to medicine.
This is why using new tech in medical care meaningfully is so difficult. At some point you have to start working with real doctors and real patients, possibly also real samples, if you're doing sample analysis.

I'm a big fan of his. I've never heard such an early recording of his though.

Yes, the voiceover is awkward and there are some UI issues here and there.
But the puzzles are solid, there's a ton of great art and piles of charm.
I think that #pointandclick people will like it.
It deserves way better rating than what it has on play store.

Jeden z mnoha dobrých důvodů, proč nevolit egomaniaky se střety zájmů.
Dala by se náčrtnout paralela s politologií. Měli bychom daleko pevnější a stabilnější systém, kdybysme z ní čerpali poznatky a aplikovali je.
Ale politik, který chce navýšit vlastní moc, na tom z definice nemá zájem.

One idea I had a few years ago was, whether it would be possible to put a sensor behind a display with pixels arranged in a way to form a metalens with good enough sharpness and fov, while the display still appearing opaque to naked eye.

There's so much computation you can do in real time with light.
Reminds me of a paper where they built a photonics chip that can do matrix multiplication.
Also meta lenses are a super interesting subject.

Pak je tam nezanedbatelný etický hledisko, a odpojenost lidí od zdroje potravy.

BTW, that device is to this day our only BluRay player and it's doing it very well.
PS3 being Sony, it supports very well all standards, digital audio, all the bells and whistles.
