Fantastic. We're up to the modern day.

We took the kids to today's show in Leicester. They loved it. Their first ever comedy gig. We spent the rest of the day having jokes read to us and judging the quality of poo on pogo stick and Spewnicorn pictures. The books are a real cultural investment in their future.

Families often have to travel over an hour to reach specialist treatment. This support eases financial pressure at an incredibly hard time and will help with things like the cost of fuel, train fares, and lost income.

Massive love to the families and charities that have campaigmed for this.

Families of children with cancer to have travel costs covered The government sets aside Β£10 million a year to help families and young people under 24 access cancer treatment.

It's easy to miss the good work the Labour government is doing at the moment.

I spent 4 years as a hospital inspector and 5 years in NHS patient experience, so I know this is an important change that will make a massive difference to families of children with cancer.

Can't help but notice that your wikipedia page doesn't mention that you also retired 2 years ago. Another cover-up.

(This continues to be one of my favourite bluesky interactions).

I start all my DMs with "Ahoy hoy" and await a response. I'm a traditionalist in that sense.

Really enjoyed @matt-forde.bsky.social's political party with Keir Starmer. Always manage to get the big boys to relax into it more than most interviews so you get a sense of the person behind the public image. Need to listen again as can't remember what he said his dad did for a living though.

I pledged for Be Funny or Die mainly based on your Twitter threads of comedy analysis. Was that Β£50 pledge worth the thousands of hours you spent on there? That's really for others to say.

Totally agree with Joel on how social media is changing for people who used to use it to try to reach a wider audience rather than just share with existing fans. I imagine for anyone involved in creative industries, it's probably quite a scary but freeing experience.

This series is starting to 'feel' quite long if it's any help. I suppose that's more of a philosophical project.

This week is Road Safety Week & a chance to talk about Barbara Castle!

Barbara was Transport Minister for three years yet she was able to introduce the Breathalyzer, a proper integrated transport strategy & more!

This was done despite fierce opposition.

Repealing the two-child limit in full is the most powerful policy lever the Government can pull to drive down child poverty rates.
