The cover for the book 'Why Q Needs U' by Danny Bate

With pride, joy and a great deal of nerves, I'd like to reveal the cover for my book 'Why Q Needs U'!, published by @bonnierbooksuk.bsky.social!

I love the cover, with the endorsement from its first reviewer, who also called it "a wonderful achievement" and "just couldn't recommend it more highly".

I’m collecting peer-reviewed articles that have significantly impacted #psycholinguistic theories, methodologies, or models through inclusive research practices (e.g., minoritized language users, lesser-studied languages, different modalities). What are your favorite papers from the last 15 years?

My ongoing research shows AI programs that claim to evaluate speech during a meeting do so in ways that are (1) not rooted in any real data about how humans talk to each other and (2) discriminatory against people not represented in training data! I'm glad journalists are now reporting on these!
