I raced street bikes for a couple of years and after seeing the abuse proper gear takes from a fall I won’t even ride down the driveway without a helmet and gloves. Shorts? Never. Flip flops? Insanity.

Likewise. When I first started riding I spent more on safety gear than the bike itself.

As the brilliant (Arai, I think) ad said “if you think our helmets are expensive, consider what goes inside it.”

May you wear it always, and need it never.
