Yet another peace plan?
What's going on with leaked proposals for a new US/Russia deal
Far too much credibility is being given to the new ‘Trump peace plan’ that would be tantamount to Ukraine’s capitulation. Here I explain why this new plan is far less than it seems and is unlikely to lead to anything. (£/free trial), open.substack.com/pub/samf/p/y...?

Are the greens going to have enough candidates to sweep up all the disaffected labour voters in London?

Labour under Starmer have truly become morally repulsive. I am a lifelong Labour voter, long term member etc and I am appalled

Adam isn’t speculating here: it’s what Reeves did last time (alongside a hefty employers’ NI hike) and it *didn’t* go down well.
It also didn’t raise enough to protect against shocks, hence more rises being needed now.
This is total, dismal, political failure.

“In an email from January 2019, Mr. Epstein wrote to Mr. Wolff of Mr. Trump: “Of course he knew about the girls as he asked Ghislaine to stop.””
Starting to see why Mike Johnson kept the House shut down for weeks rather than allow the 218th signature to release the Epstein docs…

The fact that the BBC has made serious culpable errors does not negate the point that there is a real and concerted right-wing media campaign to destroy it. Both points can be true at the same time and the campaign would not end even if the errors did.

They have learned so little over the course of parliament it is maddening. They should have raised income tax ok first budget and got the pain out of the way then. Multitude of smaller cuts more painful in terms of pissing off interest groups e.g. OAPs, farmers etc

It's been the standard line amongst many labour members I have known for a long time. It's weird how ingrained it has become.

Good win. Should have been by a more comprehensive scoreline. Not sure how Spurs kept 11 men on the pitch. Spurs were really poor as well

Starmer and McSweeney desperately need to be jettisoned if there is to be any hope of Labour salvaging something from this period of power. What an absolute shambolic waste of a landslide it has been so far.

Katie Lam’s immigration panic is built on lies
As a Tory proposes the harshest migration policy since Idi Amin’s, data shows the public doesn't understand the numbers - thanks to politicians too venal or timid to tell the truth
“Labour is losing more voters to the Greens and the Lib Dems than it is losing to Reform, not least because many are appalled at Labour’s cowardice on immigration—at seeing the government essentially concede the argument to Reform and the newly extremist Conservatives without even trying to fight.”

Got to say that I'm not sure Labour (M Sweeney) approach of holding your existing voting coalition in contempt and reaching out to racist boomer Reform voters is working terribly well

Think we’ve crossed a pretty major threshold – and a very bad one – if a journalist working in the lobby for a major newspaper group can tweet like this without professional consequences.
