Neither of my offspring plan on having children (don't blame them, I know I'd think twice before having kids in the present circumstances) and I think that's great. There are plenty of humans.

Also in Southern California, but every previous attempt I've made at growing them has ended up cultivating more aphids than Brussels sprouts. I should give it a try again, I could use a winter crop for my new raised beds...

I'm glad more people can enjoy them now! I just wish I could still get the old variety for personal consumption.

(I used to steal my parents' tonic water and eat grapefruit peels as a kid, I've always liked bitter flavors.)

Yay for useful crop varietals, but I'll miss it if they replace all the grapefruit with a non-bitter variety.
