I do love how many of the illuminated manuscripts I take inspiration from add layers of humanity to their cats, even to the point of giving them human facial features.

Maybe that's because the artists’ skills were lacking but I like to imagine it was done on purpose.

Cats are always cats, whether it's the medieval period or today.
Those of us that love them understand they have very important ghosts to jump at and shenanigans to plot.
