I’ve had bad luck but not the WORST luck. Still wish they had given me the damn HPV vaccine.

Colposcopies are pretty easy, the LEEP is the one where they give you epinephrine with little to no warning making your heart race and feel like you’re having a panic attack. They only give you one if your colposcopy results indicate the need.

I haven’t developed cervical cancer but have had abnormal Pap smears every 6 months, multiple colposcopies and LEEP procedures (which are traumatic), and now even after having had a full hysterectomy, there’s a chance my HPV will cause vaginal cancer so still have to go every year for checkups.

Agree, and yep, got HPV (the cancer causing strains) at age 41 and have been dealing with repercussions for over 10 years. Was told at the time was not recommended for over 40 because “you’d have been exposed by now.” Well, I had just gotten a divorce so guess what.
