I get it. Communication is hard. I struggle with knowing what the right thing to say is sometimes. However, using AI to say it for you is just not the way.

I think it's even more shitty bc if l'm not face to face with someone, I tend to communicate with them over text. My ears don't work. Now, I have to accept that I either have to arrange face to face communication or risk communicating with a machine by proxy?

I know a girl who knitted a sweater for her boyfriend of nine years, and of course, you know how it ended. I'm a very strong believer in the sweater curse, although I can't knit, and I'm not paired off in any capacity.

I'm looking at this celiac organization and I cant help but wonder why so many of them feature a certain glutenous grain in their logos. Its kinda like having an organization centred around peanut allergies and having your logo be that Mr. Peanut gentleman. Hardly see how it inspires any confidence.

Schedule for NYPD ASL Interpreter Certification Pathway says you can "become an ASL certified member of service." Next to the heading is a graphic of the ASL alphabet, but T is completely wrong and several other letters are a bit odd. Schedule is February 29, Overview of RID Certification Process. March 4 and 6, theory and practice of interpreting. March 11 and 13, Interpreting 1, ASL to English. March 25 and 27, ASL for emergency situations. April 1 and 3, Interpreting 2, English to ASL. April 8 and 10, RID test preparation.

A hearing woman, Jessica Wohlstetter, who is not a certified interpreter, developed a curriculum to teach ASL at the NYPD Academy. She claims that after 11 class sessions, you can take the RID certification exam. (Again, she has not passed it.)

so much of disability discourse is "Beyond Limits", "No Excuses" or "Don't Dis My Ability". Why can't we also have "listening to limits", "Not an Excuse, A Real Reason" and "Don't Deny My Disability". Aren't those more honest? I think so.
