If Watkins scores a hat trick and you transfered him out, you still did the right thing and shouldn't rue the points, it's the correct decision to bin him

Seems pretty fair to take a hit to get in a super-premium player who also has a price rise upcoming. If can't then make the move due to prices / team config, could be disastrously worse than -4 points hit

Right. Although, waiting one week, and transferring Paqueta with no hit would incur no penalty. Then you get the Paqueta over Nico W points for 3 weeks and start with no points 'debt' to recover. The question is just about this sole gameweek, is the hit worth it rather than waiting 1 week

Sometimes a way to clarify the action is to consider making the player captain who taking a hit on. Shows that you back the move (player will get 6+ points), and, in not doing so shows lack of belief in the transfer. Might then realise not a wise transfer
