Problem is that, while he might not have learned from the Gnonto episode, looks like Real Betis have learned from the Roca/Rasmussen/Llorente/Wober/Harrison episodes. Gnonto's the only case where tapping up the player failed to force a cheap exit.

I'd also argue that centrists (among whom I''d class myself) need to stop seeing Thatcher as "ok we needed that" market liberalisation and rather a privatisation crusade which drove long term collapse of infrastructure investment which over the long term utterly collapsed social and economic good

It's also missing the Fifth Column answer, which is the collapse of Farage's beloved Soviet Union, which is presumably where the 20% "none of the above" for Reform is going.

I actually think that's incompetence from his agency. If you go to the link in his profile it has a picture of him in a Leeds shirt (an out of date one though). And the official EPL site has a pic of him in an Everton shirt - probably Sky pics taken at the start of the season

Oh and btw - from a 2024 scientific paper. But let's get rid of all the wind turbines because it affects house prices in the South.

Growing up in Yorkshire, I could go to three different windows from our house and see in the distance Eggborough, Drax and Ferrybridge, then three of the largest coal power stations in the country. The reason these people don't like wind turbines is they've never had anything else anywhere near them

But I think a cunard could be quite a good word for someone who goes on one, no?

Also OM have been using the v impressionable "football influencer" press to brief on the deal to attack the price and I suspect that's what they're still doing

Suspect he'd much prefer to live in the South of France and/or Rome to living in Northern England. They may pay him better as well. But they can't afford to outbid Leeds for him and Feyenoord don't really have to sell him. So if Leeds want him they just have to pay more than market price.

Difficult without a number 10. I guess the strategy is to get them on the wings but Byram/Harrison hasn't been great and no movement between wings means Gnonto/Bogle doing the work of 4 players

The reason for the "any county but Yorkshire" in there is that in Yorkshire's case it's true

Add on North East region, you get a total population of around 8.2m, for roughly the Kingdom of Northumbria, the last region to be annexed to England before Wales. Devolution would have the advantage of not cutting off the north east. Would be 23rd largest country in Europe.

Cameron govt listened to Leeds proposal for local mass transit, decided it was "too ambitious" and gave the money to Sheffield instead. If you're wondering how those "internal rivalries" come about.

The number 4m. Population of Yorkshire/Humber region - which includes a bit of Lincolnshire but not Middlesbrough and bits of North Yorks is 5.5m. Population of historic three ridings is 5.2m. sources www.varbes.com/population/y... wikishire.co.uk/wiki/Ridings...

Have to say that potential signings of Paixao, Munoz, Hamer, Buendia and (OK even more of a stretch, but we can dream) Luiz is a teensy bit more exciting than the signings we've seen so far #lufc

Interesting how the Telegraph refers to this as a cover up by "the Government" when both the leak and the subsequent super-injunction occurred under Sunak. Normally they'd have said either "Labour" or "the Labour Government" ...
