This week is Dyslexia Awareness Week in Scotland. We discussed that dyslexia is a common learning difficulty that mainly causes problems with reading, writing and spelling. We thought about our strengths and things we struggle with. We also had a lovely time reading with P7. 📚

Thanks to everyone who came along to our Change Makers open afternoon today. It was lovely to see you all.

Today we created our own symmetrical patterns.

We enjoyed practising our spelling words lots of different ways.

We continued exploring symmetry today.

Today we explored symmetry. We created and identified symmetrical pictures, patterns and shapes.

We enjoyed some free play this afternoon.

We enjoyed playing games to develop our mental agility.

We used natural materials to represent numbers and created some natural equations in our playground. #MathsWeekScot

Following on from our work on recycling and plastic pollution, we upcycled waste items to repurpose them instead of throwing them away. We were very creative. #P3SustainableSuperheroChangeMakers

This week, as part of our P3 Sustainable Superhero Change Maker topic, we learned about plastic pollution. We discussed how it is affecting our planet and what we can do to reduce it. We created informative posters to demonstrate small changes we can make to help reduce plastic pollution.

We continued our work on using adjectives to describe settings. This week we described a spooky castle.

We designed new front covers for our books. 📚

We enjoyed exploring, naming and identifying 3D shapes.

We had a lovely time sharing our books and talking about the caring characters we chose at our reading event today. 📚

Also as part of our “P3 Sustainable Superhero Change Makers” topic we have been learning about recycling. We discussed what goes in each of the Falkirk Council coloured bins. Ask us to help with the recycling at home.

As part of our “P3 Sustainable Superhero Change Makers” topic we did a litter pick in our school grounds. We are very proud of our school community and want to keep it clean and safe for everyone to enjoy. We were all very responsible and did an excellent job.

We have been using adjectives to describe settings. This week we described a beach.

As part of our work on kindness we also made kindness cards, kindness bookmarks and wrote compliment slips for friends and loved ones. We are all very kind in 3L. ❤️

This week we started our “P3 Sustainable Superhero Change Makers” topic. We will focus on small things we can do to make the world a better place. This week we have been learning about kindness. We read “Kindness is my Superpower”and discussed ways we can be kind. We made a class kindness chain. ❤️

We wrote 2 neat columns of our spelling words in our literacy jotters then wrote sentences containing our words.

More super teamwork in PE again today.

Home Learning has been sent home today. We’ll start the spelling in class on Tuesday. Reading books will be sent home every Friday and should be returned the following Thursday.

We continued developing our teamwork skills in PE this week. We worked really well together to untangle our human knots.

Today we were answering Bloom’s questions to show our understanding of our class novel “The Boy Who Grew Dragons”.
