a chart showing the mix of power gen in spain
One of the many weird claims going around for Spain is that the blackout happened because they 'phased out nuclear power'
Except...................they didn't? The share of nuclear in Spain is at the same level as it has been for years
It pleased me greatly that she a) found her way to you and b) thinks of me when she sees historic saltiness.

The dollar crashing is great news for all of us Brits who've found the US unaffordable since Brexit, except when we try to visit we're going to be turned away at the border because we liked a tweet saying slavery was bad

Probably self-evident to many people, but I think it’s worth unpacking why that is explicitly and unequivocally what this statement means:
Ok, I'm doing a version of this thread for 🧪 who are new to political conditions where info security is a safety issue:
1. Don't make public lists of people who are engaging in acts of resistance
2. Be weary of calls to advertise acts of subversion
3. Don't live post resistance meetings
Under fascism, no one is safe.
Universities stayed quiet as the admin targeted DEI & foreign aid, censored research, etc.
Now, they face devastating cuts to indirect cost rates, threatening research & operations.
Silence won’t protect institutions. It won’t protect people; it never does.

I would like a word with whoever taught cis people that if they see a trans person who is upset about the rise of transphobia, they have to tell them they’re “valid”
I’ve been out as trans for 13 years. I know I’m a man, I don’t need your personal validation, maybe protest against fascism instead?
I'm feeling so much rage right now - I can only imagine how much worse it is for you. Sending love 💖
