one last shoutout to the incredible team who helped make it. from adam myers for seeing its potential to jake lazarow for shaping it. from andrew caviston for making it look beautiful to nick savik for helping me finish it.

a lot has happened in the last month and a half. lot of reasons to celebrate. one of those reasons is what remains. five years after we initially shot it, we finally released what remains in december of 2024. it was a labor of love and seeing it somehow get 10,000 views has been satisfying.

back in the united states and the first thing i hear is “the numbers don’t mean anything”

that’s it for my word vomit. excuse the typos but they’re also par for course here.

and while i won’t say what the occasion was just yet, the fact that the movie released on the same day as a certain big event in my life makes it that much more special to me.

the whole jathara sequence was incredible but the shot of the pallu being thrown off and getting caught by pushpa is a special highlight. and srivalli’s monologue afterward really touched me.

pushpa is one of the best characterizations in indian cinema and the climax fight made him terrifying.

special shoutout to the way they developed the relationship between pushpa and srivalli. it felt a bit undercooked in the first one but it shines here. and it was cool to see women cheering in the theater during the wife/husband sequences.

finally watched pushpa 2 so here are my immediate thoughts:

its over the top and full of mass flavors that make for a full meal. the movie had a bit of an unusual start but there truly stunning sequences throughout. went in with no real expectations but i am now beyond ready for the rampage.
