Amid the cold and chaos of this past month, local clergy and community members gathered last night for a Call to Action and Interfaith Service at Congregation Kol Ami in White Plains.

Last week, I spoke on the House Floor about the consequences of cuts to the Social Security Administration workforce. Members of our communities rely on these lifesaving services, so I urge my colleagues in Congress to bring this issue to the forefront and reinstate these essential positions.

Congress eyes new electric vehicle safety standards legislation. How backers say it will save lives. Electric vehicles could soon be in the crosshairs of Congress, with a new bill that would force more rigorous safety standards.

Evolving technology on our streets should not mean lack of standards or safety precautions. My bill enhances public safety by protecting drivers, passengers, and first responders from the potential danger of electric vehicle battery fires.

Yesterday I spoke on the House floor about my new bill with Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick to to keep our roads safe by improving EV battery safety standards, and educating firefighters on handling difficult battery fires.

I proudly cosponsored and voted for the Protect America’s Workforce Act, which passed in the House this week. This bill repeals Trump’s EO that stripped 1 million federal workers of collective bargaining rights. This will restore rights and I’ll continue to fight this admin’s attacks on workers.

The Trump Administration’s Environmental Protection Agency is quietly denying us protection from forever chemicals, such as PFAS. Not only is this Administration making our groceries more expensive, but they’re also making them less healthy.

This Administration has proven they have an anti-education agenda that goes beyond picking someone to lead the ED who knows more about pro wrestling than education.

This week, @repglatimer.bsky.social and I led a coalition of Bronx elected officials in urging Secretary Rubio and the U.S. Department of State to deliver immediate emergency aid to Jamaica following the catastrophic destruction caused by Hurricane Melissa.

The NY Congressional delegation has urged Trump and USDA to ensure SNAP benefits will be received by New Yorkers without delay. USDA has contingency funds for this exact scenario and has a clear legal obligation do disburse them. The President is making a choice to take food assistance away.

Happy Halloween! Unfortunately this year, even Halloween candy is not immune from Trump’s reckless tariffs. Yet another example of how families continue to be squeezed by rising costs.

Hurricane Melissa recently made landfall over Jamaica and is a devastating storm. My thoughts are with the people of Jamaica and their family and loved ones in Westchester and the Bronx at this uncertain time. In the coming days, my office is here to assist however we can.
