You should expect to go into debt to afford fresh food, clothing and furniture that don’t fall apart in 2 years, and preventative healthcare. 6. Anything that improves quality of life but is not strictly related to survival— such as an occasional vacation, meal out, or movie— are luxuries reserved for the elite. If you indulge in them, even occasionally, thats why you’re poor.
