Back in ALX after a whirlwind trip across Nepal for my brother's wedding. Tough returning to reality after a fever dream of temples, giant mountains, bazaars, momos, and wild elephants and rhinos out the window.

My SIL was crazy about the momos and some dish consisting of fried goat innards. The wife and I are more paneer tikka masala people than goat guts and yak people, so we tend to hit Spice Kraft a lot more often ourselves

My Nepalese sister-in-law visited recently from Seattle and claims Royal Nepal is the most authentic Nepalese food she's had in the US. We ate there 4 times during her weeklong visit last year.

Cozy Autumn Wild Rice Soup This creamy Cozy Autumn Wild Rice Soup is loaded up with seasonal veggies, and easy to make in the Instant Pot, Crock-Pot or on the stovetop.

Ironically this one doesn't call for fish, but between the wild rice, Old Bay, and cream it's a perfect chowder. Just toss in some filets (frozen or thawed) with a few minutes left to cook, and break it up with a spoon once it's flaky.

We make it with coconut milk and the wild rice pilaf from Aldi
