It might seem like there would be no need to diagnose an under-or oversensitivity to something like smell or sound. After all, some people have a great sense of smell, what about people who work in wine or perfume? Are they autistic now? They may very well be. Often when people react to new information about autism they end up accidentally correctly pointing out evidence of autism as opposed to evidence of its absence.
