Goddamn, I loved watching A Serious Man. Another Coen Brothers movie I watched once, liked, then never watched again. What a mistake! Such a joy, and certainly their most personal film. Who knows what actually happened, but the sense of growing up Jewish in Minnesota in the 60s is 100% authentic.

Watching a movie from 2009 (A Serious Man, to prepare for @blankcheck.bsky.social) and it has so much color it looks like Day-Glo.

Changed my phone number yesterday, and today I am being absolutely inundated by spam calls.

I suppose it's a damning testimony against myself, but I only revere the works of Stephen King written before he sobered up. He showed me the edge of existence before I had practical experience with it. Young Me absorbed things he experienced at a much older age. Young Me accepted his descriptions.
