Willi Castro to Cubs for prospects

Cubs are acquiring super utility man Willi Castro from the Twins, sources tell MLB.com. @jonheyman.bsky.social was on it first.

#Orioles are acquiring SS Wilfri De La Cruz from Cubs in the Andrew Kittredge trade, according to a source.

Francys Romero reported it first.

De La Cruz is a 17-year-old out of DR who ranked as Cubs’ No. 17 prospect per MLB Pipeline. Played this season in Dominican Summer League.

Official: Cubs acquire RHP Michael Soroka for SS Ronny Cruz (No. 13 on Pipeline's Top 30 list for Cubs) and OF Christian Franklin (No. 14).

Chicago's 40-man roster is at 39 players. No active roster transaction until Soroka reports.

BREAKING: The Seattle Mariners are in agreement on a deal to acquire third baseman Eugenio Suárez from the Arizona Diamondbacks, sources tell ESPN. The trade is pending medical review.
