This is def a frustration i felt with the game too, like exploration feels at odds with parkour-ing through a level, its why i could never really get in to Sonic games too

And the levels felt too big to easily commit routes to memory, making replaying for better score too frustrating for me

Looking away is gonna cost you big time like omg.... that is so annoying. and no idc if you got a message from work or a whatsapp group, you actively chose to perform this speedrun so no you didn't have yo answer it during a speedrun. you do it before or after. it's simple. You don't let that distract you if you're trying to do well in a speedrun. I've never heard of anyone making such a foolish/basic error. wtf, this could've been avoided easily. I hope others that speedrun this do better than you by a longshot

I've been thinking about this a lot actually and I do think there's pros/ cons, like its great that they don't "need" money from the game so can charge what they want for it, but also it creates an unfair comparison and competition for indie devs who really do need their sales revenue to survive
