universal basic income

phpBB's probably the best free option, takes some work to set up but it's open source and still somewhat actively updated. haven't been able to find a patreon extension, but a lot of people have asked for it, so i imagine it's at least on the radar

i'm sure there's newer ones i'm forgetting, but honorable mention to motorized standing desks (apparently 1980s from what i can find); being able to switch from sitting to standing on a whim is pretty nice

the data api only started reporting skin usage at all in the match data around patch 25.12 (june 11), so at the least it's only gonna be data since then

yeah there's been a lot of "[this person] should be recast", seemingly recognizing being recast is an awful thing to happen to an actor, and yet no one's had the clarity to put together "hmm, now why would an actor be upset that another actor was recast?"

every day i inch closer and closer to that "i keep a gun next to my printer in case it makes a noise i don't recognize" meme

still on my galaxy s7, something like 8 years or so. works fine, though i admittedly don't really like play games or anything too crazy on it

i think the funniest part is the hubris, like they think they're a lot bigger than they are. saw someone say "sag has irreparably damaged the eng va landscape" and i was like... tell that to the literal hundreds of games who had no problem signing the agreement; hyv games aren't as big as they think

just a shame there wasn't one character left over to sit in the cuck chair and watch the rest be part of the post

i don't mean to be rude, i really don't, but again - if we can have this much debate 300 characters at a time about a simple definition, and still walk away with nothing gained, then just imagine what the lawyers of a billion dollar company can get away with.

you don't have to agree with that, but to do a couple of google searches over a few weeks and claim that you "have receipts", that you know better than the people who are literally putting their careers on the line, let alone calling them liars and harassing them, is a little arrogant.

the strike isn't meaningless - it's because the actors have been debating this for months (if not years), consulting with lawyers and checking their own contracts, and have come to the conclusion that the protections they have aren't good enough.

-that they believe their rights have been violated, and then assuming the court even accepts the claim from them, take on the team of lawyers from a billion dollar corporation and win, all on their own. and that confusion regarding a "natural person" is just one of many loopholes they'll try to use.

the reason the genshin actors want a union contract isn't just the AI protections in that contract - it's so that the union lawyers can help defend them if hyv does anything shady. without that, individual VAs who believe their rights have been violated have to hire a lawyer, make a claim in China-

i pointed out one such loophole here - there's *at the very least* cause for confusion regarding what constitutes a "natural person", and hyv is for sure gonna use that confusion to make their case if any non-Chinese VAs try to claim a 1023 violation.

i'm gonna be honest, and i ask only that you hear me out before replying. i get being fed up, but the assumption that "well clearly the VAs are lying" is just arguing in bad faith. hyv has billions of dollars at their disposal, and will hire lawyers to find every loophole they can.

hmm. maybe wasn't as productive a conversation as i thought. sorry you feel this way.

i'll look over these when i get a chance, thanks. glad we could have a productive conversation, and i hope if nothing else you can appreciate that this situation is a lot more complicated than "it's already illegal". one can only imagine how debates like this would go between lawyers in court.
