In this country if you didn't come up poor, you really are cognitively impaired when it comes to understanding what is going on for most people. Unless you pre-naturally are gifted with an extreme amount of empathy, you should not be making decisions for anyone else.

Poverty getting worse is pretty closely tied to racism.
Crime scares are usually racist fear mongering.

A few years back, before they ended up opening at Grand & Lake, I remember the owners had a proposal to open up on the corner of 36th and Nicollet. They must have got hung up by the zoning? I always thought the neighborhood association shot it down. Would have been a great spot.

A Bullitt bike with 3 coolers strapped to it, two red and one blue behind the saddle.
If it didn't work so well as this, I would have made the bar swap already.

That handlebar set-up looks sweet. I bought mine second hand, and it came with a straight bar, was thinking I might swap for something with more sweep.

A view of White Sands Beach on the Minneapolis side of the Mississippi. The trestle bridge stretches across the dark summer green that lines the shore. A few small trees straggle up out of the water edge, a storm-stunted ash with bared roots, and a half-dead willow. Too young children play on the empty white sand under a bright blue sky scattered with white cloud puffs.
Like the Minnesota Twins, Summertime is having a fire sale, so get it cheap before it gets too smokey, rainy, or just ends entirely for the season.

Non-electric Bullitt is hands down the most future-proof cargo bike you can buy. I have no regrets, such a fun bike to ride. Great bike for pushing yourself to ride faster.

So when you bike on a street like this, do you bunny hop the curb, and ride on the sidewalk, or merge into the traffic lane when your way is suddenly blocked at the intersection?

If the homeowners want to clear the buckthorn they can do that pretty easily thenselves no one is stopping them from puckung up a pair of clippers, but it sound like that swath is just a free privacy hedge that blocks their view of anyone peeing. You can't complain about both things.

Minneapolis used to have "burn days" (so people could burn trash and leaves in backyard incinerators) and "laundry days" (so people could hang out clothes to dry without it smelling like burning trash). Everyone's home was heated with coal or wood. So I guess this is progress? Winter air is clean?
