I don't know where this revisionism has come from about the suffragettes - people saying "if the suffragettes were around today, they'd be considered terrorists."

The suffragettes were arrested and tortured, sexually assaulted and beaten by the state. They *were* considered terrorists!

You will have to throw in the Ancient Order of Hibernians - misogynistic and homophobic as well as sectarian. I don't believe all OO members are sectarian. Whatever the future holds for this island, it will be part of it and would rather see it as a cultural org than a political one.

Yep. I have no issues with the union jack and VE day flags, though I do think once they go up for July, they should come down again in September to avoid getting tattered and also after that it just seems territorial not celebratory.

Absolutely, at the end of my road, a rural crossroads, there are union jacks, Israeli flags, UVF flags (proscribed organisation) and various flags commemorating world wars. They will fly, getting more and more tattered until they are replaced next July.

In fairness, if that is the most controversial thing they have on her, they are fairly scraping the barrel.

We have a sycamore covered in thick ivy. In the spring/summer it is a bird maternity word, with 10+ nests and in the Winter as you said it provides cover and protection.
