When I was a teenager, I was involved in organizing a youth mass. Trying to get more people to come along I put up posters which said it would be great craic and someone complained to the bishop.

When they say UK, they don't necessarily mean all of it. Also, am sure air pollution was much worse in 1975. Though admit things like plastic pollution are worse now.

I still say moving stairs instead of escalator and lift instead of elevator.

Are grocery shops not going to really suffer in terms of lost income as well as farmers and food manufacturers? Am surprised they haven't been putting more pressure on.

The Chief Nursing Officer is encouraging the public and health and social care staff to get their winter flu vaccine.

Prof Maria McIlgorm got her flu jab through @setrust.bsky.social and said it was one of "the simplest ways of protecting you, your family, and your patients from flu".

It's hard to overstate how brave what she did was, at the time she did it. It's also impossible to quantify the number of women's lives her actions saved. It was one brick out of the wall of the theocracy at a time when that wall seemed permanent and unchangeable. RIP May. A feminist icon.
