The thing about owning a weird hybrid wild cat mix from the Middle East is that he’s all muscle with super short fur and he gets cold in the winter. As soon as the temperature drops, he wants to sleep in my lap. So obviously I have to support him and just stay here. Doing nothing.

I have things to do but I have a cat on my lap.

Every meeting the last two weeks has to have some baseball related discussion. I’ve passively aggressively started to tell people about the Blue Jays that I feed in my backyard. You talk about your Jays, I’m talking about mine. It’s only fair.

I was a huge Jays fan back in 1992 when they won their first World Series. I’ve never been in crowds like the ones we were in that day downtown. But afterwards the appeal of professional sports wore off. I realize now that I was turned off by the capitalist machine behind sports fever. And fans.

Good lord the Jays keep winning and I keep having to hear about it.

Can’t wait for the media to tell us “it’s complicated”.

The good news is that the otters are back in the creek in my backyard. The bad news is my dog covered herself in otter poop before casually strolling back into the house and unleashing chaos into my morning. Have you ever tried to bathe a dog while gagging?

My son told me today that he thinks he wants to do a double major of Social Work and Gender and Social Justice studies. I am bursting at the seams with pride that this kid is growing up to become a legitimately good human who wants to make the world a better place.
