After the anticipated and hoped for prisoners/hostage exchange, there will remain in Israeli prisons thousands more Palestinians than there had been there on 6th October 2023.

People use "anti-Zionism" to mean everything from "Every Jew needs to go back to Poland" to "One binational state with protections for both communities," which is why I don't find blanket statements of either "Anti-Zionism is antisemitism" or "anti-Zionism is not antisemitism" particularly helpful.

I'll say it again. Our horror at the Gaza genocide and at the atrocity in Manchester comes in both cases from the same, inherent part of our shared humanity. We need to assert that shared humanity in the face of both these evils as loudly as possible, and in as many practical ways as we can.

Two takes we can really do without:
1. Blaming the attack on pro-Palestine marches.
2. Highlighting pro-Israel positions expressed by/at the synagogue to justify the attack.
Irresponsible, dangerous and vile.

Jews should not have been attacked in our places of worship on our holidays. Muslims should not collectively be blamed for it and face crackdowns on their civil liberties for it.
