We have already seen them deployed all over various US states and cities, not detaining actual violent criminals but actually detaining basically harmless individuals, but who in some cases disagree with the administration’s political or religious views.

An observation …

The current administration has just massively funded a federally-owned and managed police-like organization (ICE), which has MORE powers than regular police to stop and detain folks (without actually arresting them or reading their Miranda rights, as I understand).

They should tax *corporations* directly with an employer tax that is per employee and some percentage of that employees salary. Companies get to deduct this. Then I get a W-2 that does not include this employer tax. I don’t get double-taxed.
