We can’t put profit or performance incentive on penalizing people & ruining their lives. It’s supremely evil, totally unfair and antithetical to a free society. But that’s how the whole game works. So it’s gotta go.

Well done. We have to start thinking that we are in dangerous times &, if possible, we should save books that cover topics which this & similar administrations are trying to eliminate.
History truly matters.
Imagine what we would not know if we had no paintings, books or sculpture prior to 1900

Someone has sure already made this observation but the fact they can convert all those empty warehouses into prison camps means they could have converted them into housing, community centers, job training centers or, hell, libraries or schools all along. It’s always a matter of will not resources.

worth noting that the second rich people stopped being afraid of mobs tearing them limb from limb, they stopped building libraries and opera houses and stuff and started ripping the copper wiring out of the walls of society instead

It’s so CRAZY to me that the UK is mobilizing criminal charges against everybody they can within the law for the Epstein files.
And over here in the US? Nothing. It is FULL mask-off white supremacy driven authoritarianism.
Laws are for the poor.

I peeked out the door to see what kind of ice we had, which wasn’t much yet thank goodness. But what I couldn’t hear from inside was this low hissing noise that the falling drops made.
This is the kind of sound the word eerie was invented for.

Gentle reminder that disabled and marginalized people can’t “just leave” to escape fascism.
Many are too sick to go anywhere.
Other countries won’t accept disabled people.
Leaving is not the solution.
People are scared. Leave no one behind.
