Iโve seen this in WA, harm the most vulnerable first is the agenda. Hopefully Katie Wilson is paying attention and has a team to help her fix this asap. Our kids are in crisis.

Polar stereographic map showing 2-m air temperature anomalies in October 2025 for the Arctic Circle with red shading for warmer anomalies and blue shading for colder anomalies. Most areas are warmer than average. The baseline is a 1981-2010 reference period using ERA5 data.
Here's a look at the extent of the "warmth" across the #Arctic in October. This map uses my normal anomaly scaling for each month, but it clearly doesn't work for something this extreme.

Now that #Melissa is behind us as a tropical system, we need to have an honest conversation about how the federal weather enterprise is still running because of volunteers & unpaid employees, and how this "shutdown" is not really a shutdown.

So how special is the human brain? How did it evolve? And can we ever really understand it?
Grateful to all the amazing guests, incl. @matthewcobb.bsky.social, for their ideas.

When we support adults in their skill building within communication skills, we work in a way that empowers people who simultaneously uplift themselves and the others they interact with.

In this case, weโre not spending money, obviously, effectively, and weโre not living up to our promises.โ
โend of threadโ
It indicates that what weโre doing is not working, and that just simply throwing more money at the problem is not working,โ he said. โThatโs my area of interest. Holding people, holding politicians, holding government accountable for how it spends money and the promises that it makes.
14.10.2025 05:31 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Myers argues that significant increases in education spending have not improved student outcomes. โWeโve spent a lot of money. We compensate our teachers well, but during that same period of time, the NAEP [National Assessment of Educational Progress] scores have gone down.
14.10.2025 05:31 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0not meeting improvement goals. โThey clearly removed this because they wanted to make it more difficult for people to understand how weโre doing at meeting those targets,โ he said. โUnfortunately, I see it all too often. When the data are inconvenient to the government, they simply hide the data.โ
14.10.2025 05:30 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0in OSPIโs latest release of student test score data, proficiency measures appeared to be adjusted, such that year-over-year comparisons were not a good gauge of improvement or decline.
