I’ve seen some lackluster political events, but the anti-#Mamdani protest at Union Square is channeling a new level of desperation. Basically just organizers and camera crews. Highlights include chants in support of DeSantis and moving to Florida that drew looks of revulsion from onlookers. 🙄🙄🙄

I still think that any lead Cuomo has in 1st place votes will vanish as other candidates are knocked out and their votes are reassigned to Brad & Zohran. Been proud to work with both of them for years and I think either could be an exceptional mayor. And I know Cuomo would be a nightmare for NYC.

There are lots of reasons to oppose the Iranian government, but none of them are a good reason for war.

(5) We'll never persuade the most ardent Trump backers to disavow their nativism. We'll never convince open white supremacists to accept the value of immigration. But the only way we win elections and remove Trump from power is with broader support and more votes, and we're not getting enough.

(4) Of course, it's not a fair media environment. Right wing pundits will cherry pick decontextualized acts of violence to discredit those in the streets. Digital hooligans will spread disinfo about events on the ground. But how do we craft messages that can break through these filters?

(3) The messaging and mobilization strategies are failing by the single most important measure in any debate: will they persuade those on the margins. This shouldn't be a close call or a tight debate, but it feels like so many of the ground tactics aren't designed to win the persuasion fight.
