Star Trek was the one sci-fi series that showed a future of hope. Where humanity had overcome its problems and made it out the other side.

It was morality tales. It was thoughtful. It used silly headed aliens to make you think about real world problems. Occasionally it was very, very silly.

If that's the case JUST MAKE A NEW SHOW NOT IN THE STAR TREK UNIVERSE. Slapping a Starfleet skin on a teen drama does not Star Trek make.

SNW had some episodes I enjoyed, but the drop in quality last season was deeply disappointing. What I've seen of Lower Decks has been quite funny. And the new Academy series looks... Well it doesn't look like Star Trek.
