Having assessed, I’d say this is the book you want for the nuts and bolts of How It Came To This: the ugly details. I’d say however that to really appreciate the all-channels vainglorious, reckless, self-indulgent idiocy - the staggering pomposity - then the positive, supportive write-ups are better

Back when they were introduced, the argument was 'graduates earn 100k more over their lifetime sp should pay up', so...

Interesting way of admitting that graduates earn shit nowadays. Or is this to cover the astronomical rises in Chancellor's pay?

Had a talk woth the OH about this. She wants a straight-up Call of Cthulhu game; I'm not fond for various reasons, but also she wants to make an AP of it and I'd rather give the air to a lesser known game.

Content doesn't bother me - we're bending reality and having weird imagery regardless.

This isn't mine, and I can't definitively find the original source. But I love this little bit of wisdom:

Microsoft is telling Windows 11 users to uninstall KB5074109 Microsoft is urging Windows 11 users to uninstall update KB5074109 after widespread bug reports, including performance drops and broken features.

I spent the better part of a day dealing with this, and luckily I was able to resurrect my machine without a full reset.

Microslop is a mess. In the last five years I have seen more critical fuckups like this than I saw in three decades of IT.

Why indeed? Well, aside from anything else: the hacks certainly knew Keir was the candidate of the wreckers, because they knew who had been wrecking all along. And they were silent about it because *they wanted the wreckers to succeed and win*.

100%. I honestly believe political leaders ask too little of people. The thinking is you need an extraordinarily low bar - so ask people for money or to sign something. People want to be part of something and they're eager to do real meaningful work in defense of their community and their rights.

We now know that McSweeney played a central, undisclosed role in seeding the 'antisemitism crisis' narrative for years. We now know that he was secretly involved in 'engi-neerling! the EHRC's investigation into Corbyn's Labour Party. We now know that he then guided Starmer to the leadership of the party and installed loyalists throughout the party bureaucracy. We now know that the Starmer Project then withdrew Corbyn's legally sound defence against the BHRC's critical findings and replaced it with an admission of guilt for offences Corbyn's leadership team did not in fact commit. We now know that McSweeney personally attended the meeting that decided to suspend Corbyn for arguably describing precisely what McSweeney had been doing for years in the shadows. We now know that the party suspended Corbyn using the very clause in Labour's rule book that invalidated the EHRC's findings and proved that Corbyn's office was not guilty of 'political interference' as defined by the EHRC. We now know that McSweeney, Starmer, and their associates met to suspend Corbyn less than an hour after Starmer promised the country that precisely this sort of thing would never happen again. "Time and again, the Torah repeats how we must treat the stranger: You shall not oppress a stranger, for you know the feelings of the stranger, having yourselves been strangers in the land of Egypt.
(Exodus 23:9) When a stranger resides with you in your land, you shall not wrong him. The stranger who resides with you shall be to you as one of your citizens; you shall love him as yourself, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt. (Leviticus 19:33-34).
Our tradition is quite clear: We are called upon to protect the stranger, the refugee, the immigrant.
There are specific instructions about citizenship rights and land ownership and guidelines for the treatment of widows and orphans.

As my colleague, Rabbi Shai Held, puts it: 'The Torah could have responded quite differently to the experience of oppression in Egypt. It could have said, since you were tyrannized and exploited and no one did anything to help you, you don't owe anything to anyone; how dare anyone ask anything of you? But it chooses the opposite path: Since you were exploited and oppressed, you must never be among the exploiters and degraders. You must remember what it feels like to be a stranger.
Empathy must animate and intensify your commitment to the dignity and wellbeing of the weak and vulnerable. And God holds you accountable to this obligation.' (Rabbi Shai Held, Turning Memory into Empathy)."

The superficiality of UK & US state actions to purportedly β€˜defend’ Jews, while deliberately obfuscating the substantive content of Jewish teachings, our moral and obligations to others, and replace it with 20th c. Christian-influenced ultranationalism, means they launder their own hateful doctrine

If you haven't played heavily modded #Morrowind, you have no idea what you're missing out on. It's still the best TES game in terms of worldbuilding, story, roleplaying, and immersion. Now it simply looks gorgeous and alien as well: perhaps as much so as to a young mind when it first came out.

You're absolutely right β€” you found it, it's been with you a long while, and it's only natural to feel fond of something that's served you so well, especially when someone like Gandalf suddenly seems to want it for himself.
