There were significant portions of the 24-25 season (especially pre-All Star Break) where he was simply the most consistent and reliable Timberwolf. Didn’t shine in the playoffs offensively (to say the least) but major bummer to lose him.

OKC will be favored in G7 and they should be. But this has been an embarrassing showing. It goes without saying that Indy has been awesome and deserves a ton of credit for the blowout. But this is an elimination game that could have won OKC the title! And they just decided to not show up?

The Pacers are winning the TO game tonight, 17 to 13, and are also winning the steals category 13 to 6. And as a result Indiana is +7 in points off TOs tonight.

Which I think goes back to the white washed, simplified way of teaching civil rights history. People and institutions had to actively and painstakingly bend the arc of justice toward progress and it took *decades*. It was more than just a few civil rights leaders making appeals to humanity.

A related point I’ve been thinking about in the context of universities/businesses preemptively caving to Trump: Freedom doesn’t happen absent sacrifice. If you want to get or defend rights, you have to be willing to risk something personally or professionally. Otherwise you’re on Team Oppressor

I find Finch’s inclusion here interesting, simply because the Wolves were favored to win the 2024 WCF & beat the lower-seeded Mavs but lost in 5 and MIN also underperformed in this year’s WCF. I’m not saying that’s all on Finch, but it’s an interesting comp to what Thibs did this year in NY

KAT is a 5-time all star. Last Knicks player to be a 5-time all star was Melo & he hasn’t been there in 8 years. So look elsewhere for losers. KAT can be frustrating. His bball IQ doesn’t quite meet his raw talent level which makes him only very good & not capital G Great. But he wasn’t NY’s problem

There’s a lot wrong with this, but I don’t really think any Knicks fan has the right to call Towns a loser. Last I checked the Knicks and their “non-soft, non-losers” weren’t in the conference finals last year like KAT (or for any of the 23 years before that).

This season exceeded expectations in the end. Hate that this squad is going out with a whimper again. But the Wolves still got Ant & Jaden & a competent front office willing to take calculated risks (even if I don’t always agree). Only the 3rd season they’ve won a playoff series. Not all bad

I was so pumped when OKC made the Finals in 2012. I was even more excited in 2016 when they went up 3-1 on their way to the Finals (before G6 Klay happened). OKC has long been my favorite non-Wolves team, esp when the Wolves were bad. I’m not excited this time around, but they’re a hell of a team

That’s somewhat fair but it doesn’t have to be finishes at the rim. He has a solid short game, showed last year that he can be creative finishing jumpers off the glass. He needs to be better finishing drives at the rim for sure but he’s got elite post game potential for a big guard given his skills

To get my 6 year old into watching basketball, I’ve let him stay up late and watch these WCF games with me (only until halftime, I’m a semi-responsible parent). The good news is he got into it as much as you can expect. The bad news is he now loves the Thunder and couldn’t care less about the Wolves

As a nobody in every sense of the word, it certainly *wasn’t* me, but I did mention this yesterday. It would open up a ton for the Wolves offense and makes him much more dangerous considering his size, footwork and finishing ability
