βWeβve been notified of bullies beating up kids after school. Kids trying to break up these assaults were injured. The administration has found a solution: if you are not a bully or a kid being bullied, you are no longer allowed on school premises after schoolβ

Also lol @ the suggestion that newly integrated, and soon to be all black and brown neighborhoods, consolidated political power, especially during the Great Migration (but really at any time). That idea makes sense in theory but is largely ahistorical in reality

There were significant portions of the 24-25 season (especially pre-All Star Break) where he was simply the most consistent and reliable Timberwolf. Didnβt shine in the playoffs offensively (to say the least) but major bummer to lose him.

Beringerβs talking head was about his feet being too big for soccer. Last player I remember whose feet where too big to play their original sport was Jason Richardson (whose feet were too big for skates). Translation: Wolves just drafted a player in Beringer who will be as good as Jason Richardson.

As the saying goes, anything can happen in G7. Weβve all seen IND steal games they werenβt supposed to win. As a neutral fan give me all the G7s. But Iβm not feeling great if Iβm an OKC fan. If this playoffs has taught us anything, itβs that the Pacers could give a fuck about odds/win probability

OKC will be favored in G7 and they should be. But this has been an embarrassing showing. It goes without saying that Indy has been awesome and deserves a ton of credit for the blowout. But this is an elimination game that could have won OKC the title! And they just decided to not show up?

The Pacers are winning the TO game tonight, 17 to 13, and are also winning the steals category 13 to 6. And as a result Indiana is +7 in points off TOs tonight.

Which I think goes back to the white washed, simplified way of teaching civil rights history. People and institutions had to actively and painstakingly bend the arc of justice toward progress and it took *decades*. It was more than just a few civil rights leaders making appeals to humanity.

A related point Iβve been thinking about in the context of universities/businesses preemptively caving to Trump: Freedom doesnβt happen absent sacrifice. If you want to get or defend rights, you have to be willing to risk something personally or professionally. Otherwise youβre on Team Oppressor

I find Finchβs inclusion here interesting, simply because the Wolves were favored to win the 2024 WCF & beat the lower-seeded Mavs but lost in 5 and MIN also underperformed in this yearβs WCF. Iβm not saying thatβs all on Finch, but itβs an interesting comp to what Thibs did this year in NY

KAT is a 5-time all star. Last Knicks player to be a 5-time all star was Melo & he hasnβt been there in 8 years. So look elsewhere for losers. KAT can be frustrating. His bball IQ doesnβt quite meet his raw talent level which makes him only very good & not capital G Great. But he wasnβt NYβs problem

Thereβs a lot wrong with this, but I donβt really think any Knicks fan has the right to call Towns a loser. Last I checked the Knicks and their βnon-soft, non-losersβ werenβt in the conference finals last year like KAT (or for any of the 23 years before that).

This season exceeded expectations in the end. Hate that this squad is going out with a whimper again. But the Wolves still got Ant & Jaden & a competent front office willing to take calculated risks (even if I donβt always agree). Only the 3rd season theyβve won a playoff series. Not all bad

I was so pumped when OKC made the Finals in 2012. I was even more excited in 2016 when they went up 3-1 on their way to the Finals (before G6 Klay happened). OKC has long been my favorite non-Wolves team, esp when the Wolves were bad. Iβm not excited this time around, but theyβre a hell of a team

Thatβs somewhat fair but it doesnβt have to be finishes at the rim. He has a solid short game, showed last year that he can be creative finishing jumpers off the glass. He needs to be better finishing drives at the rim for sure but heβs got elite post game potential for a big guard given his skills

This thought was in the back of my head every time an analyst/journalist talked about their record to finish the season or their record since Julius came back from injury. I kept it buried back there because ignoring that is way more fun, but facts are facts

To get my 6 year old into watching basketball, Iβve let him stay up late and watch these WCF games with me (only until halftime, Iβm a semi-responsible parent). The good news is he got into it as much as you can expect. The bad news is he now loves the Thunder and couldnβt care less about the Wolves

As a nobody in every sense of the word, it certainly *wasnβt* me, but I did mention this yesterday. It would open up a ton for the Wolves offense and makes him much more dangerous considering his size, footwork and finishing ability
