Not an actual street but if I was, I'd be a people friendly street. Miserable bugger irl. Fish guts free cask beer in gorgeous pubs. Utility cycling, Oxford, London, reformed quizzer, bad jokes, constantly profiled as Camra member in said gorgeous pubs.

One couldn't imagine St Peter's Square being over run by stored vehicles these days but it wasn't so long ago that is was a car park

10.10.2025 17:15 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0The picture shows a corner stall at London's Borough Market. It is early and there are few people around but the stall is open selling meaty sandwiches. A large drawing of a sheepdog is on a board at the front of the stall.
Looks like there's competition for Elwoods at Borough Market.

I thought observation time - certainly in Oxfordshire - was from council guidance to contractors ie it's a political choice to allow 15 mins rather than, say, 5 mins.

22.08.2025 05:34 โ ๐ 235 ๐ 33 ๐ฌ 18 ๐ 2A picture looking down the recently enhanced Grey St I Newcastle upon Tyne. There is plentiful pedestrian space where buses and cars would have roared. In the foreground three members of the League Against Cruel Sports show their banners asking for a government manifesto promise of a consultation on properly ending hunting with dogs to be fulfilled.
The front of a league against cruel sports leaflet featuring various hunted UK animals and an exhortation to strengthen the currently weak hunting laws
The reverse of a League Against Cruel Sports campaign leaflet asking people to take part in the , hopefully soon, manifesto promise of the Labour government to hold a consultation into strengthening the currently weak UK hunting laws.
Wanted to take a picture of the beautiful Grey St, Newcastle, and made it even better by persuading these fine people of the @leagueacs.bsky.social to take part. Take part yourself by pledging to complete the promised gov consultation to end hunting with dogs for good.

Canny use of Geordie slang here in Oxford.

Now, if someone could persuade the Trellint/Licensing to do something about all the illegal and unsafe taxi (and other) parking here, add on a functional speed camera and this crossing might start feeling quite safe.
On the pavement on Cowley Road, walking towards Leopold St, three drivers have stored their vehicles on the newly refurbished pavement and tactile paving. A further car can just be seen parked on the traffic light zigzags.
Something could have been done about this in the recent street works but I guess no one wants to walk 30 seconds to a car @badlyparkedox.bsky.social
