Break some eggs. Object lessons work well with some who need more than just words. And yes, I cleaned up the mess I made....and sent some cake over later.

We need leaders who are accountable and held accountable for what they break. They can't drop eggs and act surprised when they shatter. And they need to stop blaming the last person or the patio for the mess they make.

I then explained how accountability is lacking in this fraud. He is constantly trying to blame, confuse, distract, and avoid all responsibility. And that's not "just having fun with the liberal press". He is not accountable to anyone!

They just stared. And I said, "It was the media." "It was Biden." "It was Hillary's emails." "It was Obama." "It was the deep state." "It was the FBI." "It was the weather."

And I took the egg back and promptly threw it on the ground in front of them, and it splattered on their patio. And I asked, "What broke this egg?". "Was it me who dropped it?" "Was it the ground, for being hard?" "Or was it Obama's fault?"

Had an argument with neighbors again about politics. They are MAGA transplants from WV here in my apartment complex. They asked why I didn't like Trump and wouldn't let me get a word in to reply. So I went home and grabbed an egg...

Driving down to Houston tomorrow for some work stuff. Also hoping to hit Galveston with my bull terrier to let him experience sand, waves, and salt water. I think he will enjoy it!!

Texas deserves better!!

Instead of drawing maps that divide us, I urge you to draw maps that frame the entirety of the state to reflect ALL OF US. Represent the people, not the party. We deserve a system and a government where voters choose their leaders, not the other way around.

This is not leadership. It is a betrayal of the fundamental values on which our state and country were built.

By manipulating district boundaries to suppress the voices of voters, particularly communities of color and young people, you are not protecting democracy. You are undermining it to cling to power.

Today, however, we are witnessing something much different. The redistricting measures being pushed forward do not reflect the will of the people; they distort it.

There was a time when those running for office in Texas earned their support by showing up in communities, listening to constituents, and working to create policies that reflected the needs of the people they hoped to serve. That was democracy in action. That was representation with integrity.

My statement I submitted:
I am writing as a concerned citizen who is deeply opposed to the ongoing redistricting efforts aimed at preserving political power at the expense of voters' rights.

That's your lesson for today. Let your friends and family members know that the state will be meeting to redistrict, which will likely maintain the Republicans' hold on power.

All of this is under the new session our governor, Greg Abbott, called to address the Texas floods (in large print) and redistricting (in small print).

Instead of running on a platform and winning constituents to support them through the election process, redistricting allows our currently elected officials to remain in place by making it more difficult for voters to participate.

And what does this mean? It means, once again, our white state leaders are afraid of the voting power of our black and brown voters. So how do they fix this? By redistricting, which is also known as making it harder for black and brown voters to vote.

And this means what? Our white Texas Republican Party is historically known to draw new redistricting maps to dilute the voting strength of minority groups, which are growing in size in central and south Texas to the point of being a threat to the GOP's ability to retain power in Texas.

And what does this mean? On July 7, Trump's Department of Justice sent a letter to Texas demanding redistricting because four majority-minority "Black-brown" districts were "unconstitutional racial gerrymanders" under the Voting Rights Act.

This is primarily focused on changes in central and south Texas aimed at adding five more Republican seats to the almost deadlocked House. If redistricting is approved, this allows a committee of state leaders (now all GOP) to redraw congressional maps.
