I live an hour north of Minneapolis and they’re here too. They’re rounding up workers in chicken processing plants and breweries.

A bird's-eye view of a former Auschwitz II-Birkenau camp showing a wide dirt pathway flanked by parallel rows of barbed-wire fences. Groups of visitors walk along the path, surrounded by the remnants of brick structures and barracks, now reduced to foundations. Green grass contrasts with the somber history of the site, as the path leads toward a guard tower in the distance.

Auschwitz was at the end of a process. We must remember that it did not start from gas chambers.

This hatred gradually developed: from ideas, words, stereotypes & prejudice through legal exclusion, dehumanization & escalating violence... to systematic and industrial murder.

Auschwitz took time.

As I just said on radio Trump was always going to come for Canada. He has an imperialist appetite and wants to grow USA territory. No deal with him will ever be worth the paper it’s written on. We need to make it hard to take our country by standing up to him and #BuyCanadian πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦

After a friend told me things aren’t that bad, I remembered my father’s colleague in Germany who, with a sweeping gesture in a lovely restaurant, said 1930s Germans sat here happily refusing to see the rise of evil because they had no stomach for fear.

He taught me to develop a stomach for fear.

Canada!

Now is a good time to contact your MP and also Evan Solomon and Mark Carney to tell them that, as a sovereign nation, we don't need US data, tech and AI contracts.

Stop them signing up for more American tech control of vital Canadian data and infrastructure!

The Trump administration warned European allies that the U.S. would pull back its forces from parts of the globe to prioritize its own interests and defense of the Western Hemisphere, signaling that they can no longer depend on the U.S. to deter Russia.
