There’s now a direct daytime train between them, that takes 8 hours and costs just €59. Leave at 10am, arrive 6pm.

Congratulations to Pàdraig MacAoidh [Peter Mackay] on his appointment as Scotland's new Makar (National Poet).
Pàdraig is the first Scottish Gaelic poet in the role.
He recorded his poem Crann-cuinnse [Quince Tree] to promote the announcement. The English translation appears in the thread below.
SO PLEASED my children's audio story 'A Little Light' is now @bbcsounds.bsky.social ahead of Chanukah. Produced by Gill Davies, commissioned by @claireogalla.bsky.social, the story explores religious legacies, togetherness, & how, sometimes, we need less than we think we do. New link in my bio.

The #BBCAuthorsLive that we recorded with Elle McNicoll last week is now available to watch on demand at Scottish Book Trust's website and on BBC iPlayer. It was one of the very best we've ever had. I'd love it if you'd watch! 😀
