That feels right. I suppose as a Weird Art Teen I don't think I cared if my teachers were "cool" in the traditional teen sense - not sure I even knew what that was. I just wanted them to be interesting and interested in what I was doing haha

As someone who knows a lot about pokemon, mario, and minecraft, I am EXTREMELY COOL to 7 year olds

It's been A Time lately so during kiddo art time I returned to the Abstract Self-Portrait prompt from @ehaidle.bsky.social's Secret Sketchbook class. Today I let the little one collab with me more directly, seemed only fitting ❤️

I remember teaching 5-6yos how to draw a bat. And some of the would get the first wing just so, with the mm shape for the bottom.. And then go to the other side and suddenly draw the bottom as uuuu. Like that was part of flipping it. Happened with several kids!

Oh I can't wait until she's writing, little kid handwriting is the beessst. It's all such a fascinating window into their little brains!

Can finally color with my 3yo without her coloring on my paper 🙈 I mean, she wants to. But I can stop her when I need to. 😅 (although she is incredible and frankly her mark making is way more interesting than mine)
