Here here! The crazy thing is, there’s not even a supply issue when it comes to written works. There’s actually a demand issue (not enough readers). So why are these AI companies trying to push AI “writing” to market?

Nothing beats holding the physical copy too. I read on my Kindle for a few years and got back into reading physical copies the past few years. It’s so satisfying seeing the progress as you read! As for the snip-bit, I chose my example with care (aka tried to choose a neat part)!

Finally got the author proof of Blessed is the Rot from the printing company. Currently at page 95 out of 323. I’m always glad to catch errors at this stage. It’s crazy how much you miss reading on a screen!

When your inner writer takes over in your day job. Doing peer reviews of scientific articles is so painful. Seriously, so many scientists cannot write and don’t even know basic grammar. Communication skills are not emphasized enough in STEM…

You know, why don’t I just make that future myself in one of my books? I already know the perfect one for blimps to be featured in 😎

Inspiration can come from the most random places, like when I was riding my bike to work and had this blimp pass overhead.

My thought process: I wish we had more blimps flying around. They’re so much cooler than planes. Like a future that never was.

The books fall into various sub genres (cyberpunk, genetic engineering, science fantasy, etc), but the thing linking them together is the presence of powerful sentient engineered intelligence a la cosmic horror’s old ones.

Checking how a scene would play out in real life—specifically, what does a sugar cube dissolving in coffee actually look like? I was way off. It sinks! Time for some slight edits.

I have a feeling, when it’s all said and done, completing this series will put all the work I did for my PhD to shame. Writing is tough but oh so satisfying!
