You'd think the framers could've at least asked Claude to proofread it.

By Claude, I of course mean enlightenment philosopher, Claude Adrien HelvΓ©tius

Are you using pantry moth traps too? In addition to being good at catching them, they're also useful for tracking how many are still around. The combo of traps and better food storage got it done for us after a few weeks.

Good luck. They're a total nightmare.

Totally agree. Just lamenting the likely loss of a cherished public good, for that reason among others.

The Things That Cannot Be Changed Three events that made Direct File possible.

If you’ve wondered how Direct File finally happened after two decades at an impasse, I wrote about three reasons why I think it finally broke through: chrisgiven.com/2025/07/the-...

This analysis doesn't go beyond "they used the word 'X' so they must mean X" even if literally nobody working on Pac-Man thought they were doing anything like what we call "AI programming" today. But taking things at face-value even when it's ridiculous to do so is the NYT's MO.

Most reporting is just not up to the task of registering both that 1) the White House is *attacking* universities *as institutions* 2) the White House is working *with* universities’ boards to achieve *common goals* for remaking and weakening those institutions

Fully obsessed with this record now. Couple of additional things: 1) the first track turns out to be an old Wobbly anthem; 2) watching this show of his from last year (www.youtube.com/watch?v=GvV-...) and i guess he toured with narcan and plan B to hand out at shows. That's praxis.

It's bar exam week, which means i sat for the damn thing 10 years ago. At the time, I thought studying for it was the hardest thing I ever had to do. Kinda funny, since the next two years were full of panic attacks and secondary trauma from standing next to good people on their way to jail & prison.

It’s also telling that a sitting member of Congress is urging presidential action and/or philanthropic or corporate action. Anything but actually taking action as a co-equal branch of government, it seems…

A further abdication of Congress’s institutional power and role.

I use that site all the time for myself for the use case it says on the tin. And it's very good if you have a particular trigger you want to check for. But even that site doesn't always have enough context. I'd argue this misses quite a bit of context about why the scene in question is upsetting.

Superman Fun to watch and surprisingly sincere, this is an entertaining reboot of the Superman franchise.

I've been looking for a good parent-centric movie content guide after a bit of a disaster seeing Superman this weekend and this is so utterly inadequate. parentpreviews.com/movie-review...

I often think about how AI purveyors are trying to get us to use it so we structure our lives around technology they control. And while I think that’s true in a lot of cases, sometimes it’s just another bullshit upcharge.

Part of the (horrifyingly) cutesy name and selling merch for the concentration camp is an attempt to create an appetite for detention and deportation (and worse). www.miamiherald.com/news/local/i...

Attorney work stoppage sends court officials scrambling - The Boston Globe With the state so reliant on private attorneys, the stoppage has effectively crippled the courts’ ability to assign lawyers to indigent defendants who are entitled to them.

The premise of this system is that people should decide to go to college, then go to law school, then operate their own law firms β€” all at enormous personal expense β€” and then... somehow do serious criminal defense at $65/hr.

Just completely untenabe. www.bostonglobe.com/2025/07/13/m...
