“Sober but social” -my new tagline It will still be tv, movie and book reviews, mixed with my odd views on other stuff along the way. And of course there will be the odd spelling mistake.

For me it was a great movie.

Wasteman ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 9/10 IMDb
A powerful, raw and gritty prisoner drama. The script sizzles with tension.
Jonsson gives us a genuine performance which is matched step by step by Blyth’s intensity.

Cold Storage ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 6 IMDb
Cheesy and fun watch. The gory elements are daft splatters of cartoony gruesomeness. The cast are all likeable and enjoy themselves in the a plot that zips along for its brief 90 odd minute runtime. The one final kicker makes no sense mind.

Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Bonkers but fun film, which never went anywhere I expected it to go. The multi-stories cleverly linked together for fun zany ride, which was very much worth going along for.
Saturday finds me not fading away like my hair colour! 🖕🏻✌🏻

And because someone doesn’t do get pissy with them…no.
If someone started a pointless argument with me and said slurs to me who I didn’t know…I would walk away…SO I DID AND BLOCKED THEM!

They also said would you ignore someone if they said hello in the street, I said no…but I probably wouldn’t start a conversation either… I did how ever say…
I watched it a home the other year, and what’s horrific about it is how horrible it all is. I’m still not sure I have a clue what it was on about…

No Country For Old Men ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Yes I had never seen it! And with that out of the way…
What a film, the direction is spot on, and what feels like a small story is so epic in its journey. With a brilliant cast this gritty film had me gripped.

Crime 101 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 8/10 IMDb
This had me gripped throughout, building cleverly and interweaving everyone nicely together. It’s slickly directed and Laytons script pieces everything together perfectly.
Been feeling rather meh today! Not sure why?!
Fought with myself and resisted getting a takeaway, so won’t beat myself up about that tomorrow.
But have made my way the Scream 1-3 (for the millionth time)
Election ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 7/10 IMDb
A fun darker high school comedy, which takes good poke at America. Witherspoon shines her and Broderick does a good job as the hapless teacher.
Queer ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Beautiful to look at which is no surprise coming for Guadgnio. Craig is brilliant as is Daan De Wit! But where is should pull at the minds and hearts it leaves you cold. The psychedelic drugs trip heads into body horror territory, which felt jarring.
a feast for the eyes. Some elements of the feast don’t work, but a lot do.
Robbie is good but Elordi is better. But the script at times gets lost in the upper lust, you forget they are supposed to love it each other. Which is only just saved in a beautifully acted last scene. The score spot on.

“Wuthering Heights” ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 6/10 IMDb
This is not one for classic literature purists and many will say Brontë will be turning in her grave.
That being said there is a lot to be said for Fennell’s version. It’s never not stunning to look at, and from start to finish is 1/2
Agreed!!

A Knight’s Tale
25 years old this year and still daftly charming as it was on release. Ledger is a great lead, backed up nicely the supporting cast.
